Student exchange
As part of supporting education on topics related to clean cooking and sustainable circular economy, student exchanges have been carried out among the project’s partners. Twelve students from Mali visited ITT, staying for two months to work on their Master’s and PhD theses.
Malian researchers visit ITT
Researchers and professors from the Malian partners have visited ITT in Cologne (Germany) during the project. These visits are part of the knowledge transfer and networking among the members of the C-Cook-Mali project.
Online winter school 2024
In February 2024, the C-Cook-Mali Winter School was conducted over the course of two weeks. The goal was to train Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students from Mali in topics related to energy transition and clean cooking technologies in the context of West Africa.
Experiments and field visits 2023-2024
One of the pillars of the C-Cook-Mali project is research work. This research work encompasses planning and performing experiments with pilot plants at IPR/IFRA and USTT-B installations. Throughout the C-Cook-Mali project, the ITT team has conducted several field visits to collaborate with the local teams at these installations.
Mid-term workshop in Mali in August 2023
The team from TH Köln traveled to Bamako and Katibougou for three days to conduct the project’s midterm workshop. The main objective of the workshop was to present the results achieved by the project and to discuss/plan the next steps together with the partners.
Network meeting at DAAD
Project team participated to the networking event organized by the DAAD in May 2023. TH Köln team took part at the venue in Bonn, while the team from Mali participated online.
Online Autumm School 2022
In December 2022, the C-Cook-Mali Autumn School was conducted online over the course of two weeks. The goal was to train Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students from Mali and the region in topics related to sustainable circular economy and renewable energy in West Africa.
Train the trainers workshop in 2022
This workshop was held in July 2022 in Bamako. This three-days event attracted 15 participants and has been successfully completed. Main contents of this training included the demonstration and experimentation with the installed pilot plants.
Project workshop in Germany (01-04.11.2022)
The project meeting was held at the ITT, TH Köln and a day was dedicated to visit the metabolon. Four participants from Mali attended this meeting (two from IPR-IFRA and two from USTT-B).
ITT visited Mali in September (06.-08.09.2022)
A project meeting was held in Mali in September (06-08.09.2022). The purpose of this project meeting was to discuss the key points of the project, report on the work progress and identify the priorities for future work.
